Welcome to the blog of Bethel Township, Clark County, Ohio. Our township reaches from the Huber Heights City boundary on the west almost to the city of Springfield on our east. We have over 14,000 residents in the unincorporated parts of the township, and another 6,000 in the city of New Carlisle, which is within the township. All homes within the township are in the well-rated Tecumseh School District.
Our township has four parks – Raynor Park in Park Layne, Donnelsville Park and ball diamonds in Donnelsville, Crystal Lakes Park at the corner of Lake and Forest, and Medway Park by the traffic light in Medway. We also have three county parks – the Wenrick Wetlands, George Rogers Clark Park, and Snider Road ball diamonds. Visit our parks and enjoy all they have to offer.
The township’s elected officials are: Nancy Brown, chairman of the board of trustees; David Finfrock, vice-chairman; and David Phares, board member. Melanie Cochran is the elected Fiscal Officer, Tim King is the township administrator, and Libby Reese is clerk’s assistant. Our regularly scheduled township meetings are normally the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the fire station on Gerlaugh Rd.
Jacob King serves as fire chief, with Chris Ludwick and Jen Cotterman as his assistant chiefs. We have approximately 25 part-time members on our fire department and another 30 who serve on the paid-per-call side. Our two stations are located on Lake Rd. in the Crystal Lakes/Medway/Park Layne area and on Main St. in Donnelsville. Our new station on Lake Rd. opened early in 2010, and the building is also home to the township’s administrative offices.
Daniel Berner, Mike Allender, and Justin Legge take care of our roads. Give them a wave and a smile when you pass them mowing, plowing, salting, patching, trimming, or any of the many other things they do around the township. They will probably wave back – they’re all pretty friendly.

There were several fire issues discussed, including hiring personnel, repairing engines, and possible financing for the proposed new fire station. We also discussed buying a new police cruiser, plus possibly other items.
You may get a copy of the minutes of any meeting at the township offices, 11300 W.National Rd. If you call ahead at 845-1341 someone will make sure what you are requesting will be available when you arrive. Thanks for your interest in township governance.
Thank you for the opportunity to bid on your new fire station. The turn out was fantastic and you folks have some difficult decisions to make.
Sincerely,
